Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards, including the Oscar for her movie Piano. Her career began acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. Enthusiastic about acting from her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. The mumps caused her to lose hearing in one of her ear canals, but that didn't stop the actress from pursuing her dream. After studying drama in college and moving into New York City with her plans in mind. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. After moving from Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered an acting role as a support on Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since then, Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of television movies and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
